The NBA Draft for 2016 arrives Thursday evening from Brooklyn, New York. Chicago received Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant. 21 pick and two second-round picks. In other trade news on Wednesday, the New York Knicks acquired former NBA MVP Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls in a five player deal.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on June 22 that the Hawks agreed to a trade deal that sends point guard Jeff Teague to the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks also got Justin Holiday and a second round pick in 2017. Now that Atlanta has the spot, that seems likely to change. On draft night, Chicago currently has the No. 14 pick and may look to replace Rose with a promising young guard, or could be involved in further deals to get what they need.. They might be swinging more deals, as there’s also been rumors that the Hawks were trying to shop around forward/center Al Horford to three different teams.
The latest NBA Draft 2016 mock picks were shaken up just a bit on Wednesday as at least one big trade impacted the team order for making selections. 12 draft pick on Thursday night. New York is now being touted as having a “Big Three” in place with Rose joining All-Star Carmelo Anthony and rising star Kristaps Porzingis. It’s still expected that the Philadelphia 76ers will hold the No. They have the No. 2 spot. The Atlanta Hawks moved their point guard with the Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz both benefiting in the deal. Due to that, the original draft pick held by one of the teams has moved to another.
